Reconfigurations Exhibition, Klompching Gallery

I am so honored to have been invited to participate in the Reconfigurations Exhibition at Klompching Gallery in Brooklyn. The exhibition brings together Samin Ahmadzadeh, Vaune Trachtman, Andy Mattern, Diane Meyer and myself. Five Artists who reconfigured historical and family photographs into new narratives. Six of my images from the series Descendants will be featured. The series combines family photographs, thread and blood specimens in the quest to understand personal identity resuting from ancestral lineage.

JP Terlizzi

JP Terlizzi (American, b.1962) is a New York City metro based photographer whose contemporary practice explores themes of memory, relationship, and identity. His images are rooted in the personal and heavily influenced around the notion of home, legacy, and family. He is curious how the past relates and intersects with the present and how the present enlivens the past, shaping one’s identity.
